Ok, here me out. I’m not talking about doing nothing.
I’m saying maybe going 100 miles an hour all the time could be harmful.
My whole career has been hyper-driven towards acceptance and success. Always striving for more.
One day, I started to see the man behind the curtain. As in, the path I was on led to a show instead of the meaningful history I wanted to leave behind.
But the beast within is hard to tame. There is so much history, so much muscle memory, it’s hard to change your ways.
So I keep pushing myself. Always something to figure out, if that makes sense. I have to find the solution all the time. (Rooted in trauma, I’m learning.)
When you are focused on the details all the time, you can miss the big picture.
Keep it up and something will slow you down where you have no choice.
Sounds familiar but not alarming. Until it happens to you.
Things have changed. Habits. Movements. I have been forced to slow down.
Well, what if the rest allows you to do more meaningful work in less time?
What if I am enough?
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 NLT
